Wife, mom, and baker extraordinaire. 😄 I grew up baking family recipes with my mom. Giving tins of homemade goodies was what we did for new neighbors, at the holidays, or when someone got married or had a baby. Sharing our goodies with others was our way of showing friends and family we cared. It was the love language we were taught, for yourself and others. Her philosophy was everything was better with baked goods; When you’re feeling down, make cookies. When you make the cheer team, celebrate with a cake. Good report card? Apple pie a la mode. It’d just what we did. And I truly believed everybody else lived this way, too. With adulthood came the realization that others didn’t bake like we did, and that what I experienced was special. When Mom passed, I knew it was the time to finally take a leap of faith, believe in myself and finally, do what I love because life is too darn short to do anything else. Relying mostly on her handwritten recipes and ones forged forever into my memory, baking is now my everyday life. It’s taken 50 years but I’ve finally figured out this is what I’m supposed to be doing, and I’ve never been happier. 👩‍🍳 *No hydrogenated oils or other cheap substitutes, only the best ingredients can make the best bakes. 💜 Baking Sweet Memories 💛
