Mimi’s Sweet Cloud “Mimi” was told the hardest truth of her life. A accident left her with a spinal cord injury, and doctors said she might never walk again. The words hit her like ice: “Your mobility will be limited… you’ll need a wheelchair indefinitely.” She sat still, nodding numbly, but inside her spirit roared in protest. She had always been strong, always been on her feet—baking, caring for her grandkids, bustling around her community. “What if I can’t walk… but I can still create? What if I build something sweet enough to lift people—like clouds lift the sky?” And just like that, Mimi’s Sweet Cloud was born. She started small, baking in her adapted kitchen with counters lowered and tools within reach. Her hands, though worn with age, still held the magic of sugar and love. Cakes with creamy frostings, pies that tasted like childhood summers, peanut brittle with a perfect snap, and cotton candy spun so light it vanished on your tongue—it all flowed from her kitchen.
